A very strange wee Insect!

I think this is a baby dragonfly? Anyone care to concur or oppose my classification?

Again I was confined to just the surrounding garden with my blasted sore foot so again insects were the big feature. I found myself completely fascinated by this little guy. I think he is both beautiful yet kind of gross. I showed the photo to Miss 11 and she said "ewwwwww whats that" LOL!
There were many adult dragonflies around as well.
