Italy or UK in Australia!
Today was our typical Sunday with a visit to 2 different Open Gardens. In UK I believe it is called the National Gardens Scheme. There is also something similar in USA.
Both of these gardens were at Crafers, in the Adelaide Hills, and both were new to us. Most of the gardens are opened on an annual basis, and we revisit our favourite ones each year.
Virtually all of the gardens offer afternoon tea making a great day out, apart from the magnificence of most gardens and the huge number of photo opportunities. Several of the houses are also open if the afternoon tea is served inside the owner's homes.
The first garden we visited was called Lampert House & Gallery and was a bonanza for Paladian to photograph her bugs and insects. The garden had various mixed plantings being semi-formal without being heavily manicured. It was my sort of garden and is where I shot the blip I finally decided to go with today.
In my blip you see part of the rose garden with French Delbard and Austin roses, clematis, Grossi lavender and a feature urn. This view is from the pittosporum arch looking towards the Aussie gum trees framing the background. Sort of a European look with an Australian twist!
See the detail on the urn much better in LARGE.
