Theatre Going

Been up to Pitlochry for our wee annual break. Our gaff was very nice, enormous room and bathroom with period features and great views across the hills and very welcoming. We were lucky to get it at short notice - the town is absolutely heaving, what with the theatre and a sound and light show in a local forest that attracts over 80,000 people to the town. Went to see Chicago at the Pitlochry Festival Theatre. Mrs FP says it was wonderful. The music was not to my  taste but the production was impressive and the three lead actresses were brilliant (especially Velma -  Niamh Bracken). The guy that played the lawyer started with an Illinois accent that gradually migrated south through the performance. By the finale he would not be out of place in New Orleans. But for a small band of players it was an accomplished musical.

One gripe - the atmospheric smoke machine that ran before, throughout and after the performance. We were fumigated! People were hacking, wheezing and coughing throughout. All good fun!
