[Update: After many (ok 3) people had trouble reading it, i've updated the photo to be a finer resolution one. This has the disadvantage of making the photos difficult to make out individually. The original version with 32x32 photos is here. Sorry for the change in midstream! ]

I wasn't sure what I'd do for this one. The bar has been set pretty high for `100th blip' photos. I though of a few things I could try, but nothing I had time for this week; I had pretty much decided not to bother. It occurred to me, though, that not only is to day my 100th blip, it's also nearly exactly 1 year since I decided to have a proper go at learning something about photography and bought my dSLR. So I guess I'll mark the day this way. It's been a fun year, and beyond the basics I've at least managed to learn a bit more specifically what I don't know (and want to understand), which is a good start. Particularly in the last few months; this place is great for experimenting, and learning from others.

[Update: as commenter JH notes, this is day 100 for quite a few blip'ers, being 100 days from Jan 1. Congrats to everyone who'se stuck with it so far. I know I've had some pretty unmotivated days or very busy days and wondered about skipping one, but then somehow I always decide not to.]

Thanks everyone for sharing your images here. I don't have as much time to keep up with them as I'd like, but it's great to see what people come up with every day and I'm learning a lot from them. And many thanks to Joe for setting this site up and making it so easy to use. I'd been vaguely thinking that I ought to do a one-a-day project of some sort, but this site really made it too easy to put off any longer!

I guess this is a montage or more of a photomosaic. I tried it with my 100 photos arranged in a 10x10 grid, but they were a little big for the effect to work. So what we have here is 16 copies of each of the 100 blips, each at 16x16 pixels (including this one, or rather a photo of it, just to be consistent). Otherwise they are untouched square thumbnails of each blip. I've arranged them (and when I say I, I mean a computer) so that the text emerges from the difference in intensity of the various photos.
