'Guest Ready'

Soooo........................ as those of you who follow our Blips regularly will know.................... we own houses in Cornwall & Edinburgh and for the last couple of years have been trying to live between the two. The one that we are not living in; we rent out via 'Airbnb'. Well something has got to pay for my treats.



However, because our income is so spasmodic Ann also likes to have a little part time job.

…...........And today she went for a training session at her latest 'little part time job'. She is now a 'Meet & Greeter' for 'Guest Ready' who are a company that look after 'Airbnb Properties'. Obviously Ann is more than qualified to do this job. She rents her own houses out through airbnb, she worked in a Holiday Letting Agents in Cornwall for more than 10 years and did all the inspections on the properties, she has worked in the hospitality industry for more than 20 years, she knows how to be nice to people even when they are being total arseholes???



…...............What she doesn't know................... is how to do stuff via 'apps'. The two lovely 12 year olds  young boys who took Ann through her training today must have been tearing their hair out. They said, 'All you've got to do is download the app and then follow the instructions.' Ann said, 'Can you do that for me before I leave just to make sure I've done it properly.' So they did it but then Ann had to put in her 'apple' password and she wasn't sure what that was. She said, 'I've got it written down in my password book.' Young boys resisted the temptation to laugh at her but I'm sure after she left they had a good old giggle. Lol.



Anyway, if Ann can cope with the technology this sounds like the bestest job ever. Apparently one just logs onto 'something' once a week to say when she's available for work and then she goes onto an app everyday to see if there's any jobs she wants to do on the following couple of days??? It's a 'freelance' job but it's well paid and the great thing is; it's very flexible. And hopefully she can just accept jobs in our local area. Having said that, even if she goes across town to a job, it's only going to be about 6 miles max.



So heyho..................... does this sound like a good job or what???



…........And if anyone is interested...................... I went on the bus to Braidburn Valley Park today. I did a little bit of splish, splash, sploshing in the burn and I did lots and lots of speedy running. Today I have been a happy hound!!!
