There and back again

Wray Valley - Dartmoor

Well we survived last nights storm and this morning we had a local walk to see how every one else had fared. It was not raining and there was a weak winter sun shinning. In the woods there were a few fallen trees across the path and the sound of rushing water everywhere.

It wasn't until we popped into Mortonhampstead for papers that we found at least 6 or 7 cars broken down in the remains of last night floods, in the mile to town.

As I sit here I can hear that the rain is starting up again. The trouble with the road off towards Bovey Tracy is that although its an A class road, it is for the most parts a single track road with passing places. Running through a steep valley most of it is below field level so it is liable to flood at any place. We have Bryn here at the moment and somewhen today he has to be taken home. Wish us luck!
