What's Grey and Spotty?

I spent a good chunk of the day in the garden, wrestling with roses. I have mixed feelings about gardening these days. When I get out and do a bit, I see so many more things that need doing so instead of being satisfying it can be frustrating. Once the roses were conquered, I decided to just enjoy the autumn sunshine and took a drive out to see if I could find something of interest. This mushroom rejoices in the grand scientific name of Amanita excelsa var. spissa, and the less impressive common name of Grey Spotted Amanita.
