Saturday: Brandywine Falls

It's supposed to be the last nice weekend so we've taken an impromptu overnight trip to Squamish. We had a great afternoon at Brandywine Falls, and enjoyed some amazing views.

It's also been a day of lovely interactions. We were sitting having our modest packed lunch before heading up to the Falls, when someone from the large family group barbecuing at the next table came over with a plate of food for us which was incredibly kind.

Up at the Falls we got talking to a lovely Québécois woman who was travelling the breadth of Canada in her motor home. It had taken her a month to get here and next she's heading down to the southern U.S.

And over drinks this evening we got talking to Shane and Andrew, two rock climbers up from Seattle. That was a really wideranging conversation covering loads of things, including the state of US politics. They said that most of their friends had just had to switch off as the day to day was too distressing.

We ended the day with a great dinner at 'The Salted Vine', where our servers were also incredibly chatty........one of them wrote down a long list of other places we might enjoy in the area.

I found it hard to decide on a picture so have a posted a couple in extras. The first is a lake and its reflection - it was like glass.
