thanksgiving day

we took advantage of the beautiful weather today to cut down a little chunk of history that has been creeping into my parents' view of the lake. a blue spruce that had been given to either my brother or i in elementary school as a part of an earth day celebration. we have quite a few of those (now quite large) trees surrounding my parents' yard, and it was just a bit sad to see one go.

the next day as i sat watching one of the season's first snow storms entering little traverse bay from the open lake... i sure appreciated the open view : )
