Onwards

So that’s it then.  The gifts have been opened and are delightful.  The congratulations respectfully received.  The arrival of the cake was heralded by the fire alarms and the candles have now been blown out – there is still some left which shall be enjoyed over the next few days.  We had a big family breakfast and then joined the festivities in Biggar.  Generally, the day was spent in a slight fog of happy tiredness.
 
This particular birthday was prefaced by letters from pensions folk and from the NHS amongst others.  A milestone has been achieved.  One question is ‘now what?’
