The last few days have been fairly hectic.  In theory we looked after the grandchildren, but it was actually S who had a lot of running around between ferrying the 5 year old to and from school, and the other three to sports, music, Scouts and other activities.  Instead I took the train to visit my father who was still in hospital after four operations during his forty day stay.  Despite living nearly 230 miles away I have managed to see him on ten days during that period and have been very impressed by the care given to him by the hard working NHS staff.  Then after watching the oldest captain his school team in a hockey match this morning, we drove home via the hospital where I noticed these beautiful ceramic tiles outside the ward.  The good news is that my father left hospital in the evening for a new nursing home where it is planned that he spends his last days.

Update;  He has been readmitted to the hospital just over 24 hours since leaving.  How much more can he take?
