Áras Kate

This was the official opening of the orphan daycare centre at Salisbury Line in Mzuzu. The tape cutting and blessing was done by Br Aidan Clohessy, director of St John of God mental health services. We had Mary for gender balance and speaking timbuka the local language!!
It was a great occasion which attracted a big crowd with newspaper and television in attendance.
The name means Kate's house in Irish (Kate's grandparents funded the building).
The first use will be for the use of 260 orphans who will come from 7.30 to 11 amd have probably their only meal of the day. They return back to their community, grandparents, siblings or friends. It's a start though
