Stir - up Sunday

Traditionally the Sunday before Advent is known as Stir - up Sunday when the Christmas pudding would be made. All the family members would take a turn at stirring the pudding and make a secret wish.
My granny used to wrap little silver trinkets in greaseproof paper and pop them into the pudding. There were lucky sixpences, little hearts, and a 'bachelors boot' and whoever received this in their portion would give cause for great hilarity.
Daisy is making her puddings and mince pies today for the family.
Have you made yours yet?
