Gateway to the Corbières
When we reached the high point of our walk, the Hermitage of St Jacques, I immediately thought, "Hey, I can take a photo of the view through the arch!" Immediately I was photobombed by the 26 other people on the walk rushing through the arch to look at the view. This is a snatched shot during the few split seconds there was no-one in sight. These walks would be perfect if there were only a dozen of us each time, but it doesn't work like that.
Still, it was a pleasant walk -- will be even better in a couple of weeks when the vines change colour. M may not have done a recce of the walk since the floods -- parts of the narrow path had deep crevasses in them and some scrambling was required to avoid them. With so many people there was some queueing too. Stats: 7.2 km, 170 m climbing, 3 hours.
I made some baguettes in the morning ... slightly disappointed that they didn't look as good as the ones we did on the course, but the interior crumb was better than last time, and they had a lovely crunchy crust.
