Castle and stitches
The girls enjoyed playing in Penrith Castle. No, here they were not admiring the stonework, but were in the midst of a complex, imaginative game. .
Later we started a sewing circle and the two younger ones set to with great enthusiasm to learning how to do cross stitch (see extra). The nicely designed kits, carefully chosen at the Knitting and Stitching Show, turned out to be perfect and it was great to see the concentration with which they worked. Even their older sister decided in the end she would like to have a go and soon got into it.
