Monday: Olympic Cauldron At Night

Despite feeling slightly winsome yesterday, I didn't manage to get a good night's sleep last night. This was because my office in London rang me just after midnight to let me know of a couple of earthquakes off the coast of Vancouver Island, one of which was a 7 on the scale.

As the quakes were far out and hadn't triggered a tsunami warning there was nothing for me to do but, by then, I was awake and never really got back to any decent sleep. So I spent most of the day in a sleepy haze.

It didn't stop me enjoying the annual BC Instititute of Technology dinner, though. It's held down at the Convention Centre and is always good - mainly because the stories of those being honoured is always so inspirational.
