Forest Reef Morning
It had been a fine party. A good time had been had by all. We emerged the next morning - large coffees in hand - to sit upon the back deck and look out over the Forest Reef landscape. It was going to be an uncomfortably warm day as had been the previous one. The light was going to acquire that burned-out, irradiated quality that Australian summer days all too often get. But right now there was a refreshing cool breeze and distant grazing cattle ... and gentle rolling hills ... and silence.
