Salt and Malt Cafe

We took the mh to the car park by the lake, so I could enjoy the lake. The lake is a fantastic location for bird watching and fishing . It is the finist still water trout fishing in Europe, with 7 miles of bank fishing, and 35000 hand reared trout added each year. Also a large number of boats that can be hired.

We aren't dedicated birders, neither fishers so although lovely location, we won't come back as walking round the lake is limited to non dog walkers, although the boss followed a lovely riverside footpath away from the lake to the village.

I people watched from the lovely cafe in between doing my walks, and as in so many places get sooo frustrated with dog owners.
We sometimes feel land owners go OTT with "dogs must be on leads" and "clean up after..." signage, to the point as a responsible dog owner, we don't feel welcome. However sitting amongst the lovely ducks waddling around the car park, i watched aleast two occasions when dog owners felt these signs didn't apply to them and permitted the dogs to run around. I like probably many others, watch, feel grumpy, but do nothing !
