I was at a reception in the Scottish Parliament tonight to celebrate 225 years of Royal Blind, for whom I worked for almost 25 years.
While visiting the loo, as one does, I was delighted to see that our parliament is leading by example and provides this little box of sanitary pads free of charge. I've been vociferous in campaigning for free protection for women for a long time.
I was amused to see though that should the box be empty, one is instructed to call the first minister's helpline! Wonder if Theresa May offers the same support at Westminster.
Well done Scotland, and well done too to Royal Blind for 225 years of service to people in Scotland, with Visual Impairment, of all ages, from cradle to grave.
