I love maps, and I also love plan drawings, which are rather like maps of imagined worlds.

This is a plan drawing of an imagined playpark. It exists already as a real playpark, right next to the Usual Place, where I work. It is only a wee space, but loved by many; it has some beautiful trees, and a carpet of crocuses in the springtime. It's been the setting for lots of play, picnics and even showjumping! 

A group of volunteer parents and local people want to see the park enjoyed by even more people, with improved access, seating and inclusive play equipment.Their vision is fast becoming reality, as you can see HERE!

I loved looking at this plan at the exhibition they held at the cafe today.

Cant wait to see the park next Spring :-)
