Newport Car Museum
We visited the Newport Car Museum this afternoon -- an amazing place with the most beautiful examples of different types and eras of automobiles all stunningly displayed. This is a 1958 Cadillac Biarritz in all its shining chrome glory. We actually visited another car museum today in downtown Newport which had a display of gorgeous Porsches. As you can imagine, Mr. W was in his element!
This morning, we walked Newport's famous Cliff Walk where you can peer at the "cottages" from a different view point as you navigate the rocky coastline along the shore. Late in the afternoon, we attempted to visit Hammersmith Farm, where Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy grew up, and where she married John Kennedy, but apparently it is no longer open to the public. Oh, and we also gawped through the gates at Clarendon Court -- the home of Sunny and Claus Von Bulow, and subject of the 1990 movie Reversal of Fortune.
Tomorrow we return to Boston and the "real world" -- we've had lots of fun these past two days!
