Today when I was with my mom I realized that I'd left the stove on at home. I was thinking about that to myself when my mom asked, out of the blue, "So what's going on at your house?" I told her I was just thinking about that--that I thought I left the stove on under the skillet, to dry it. She said, "Oh, I do that all the time." Cold comfort, that!
