L plates...

...and for the past couple of days this juvenile magpie has been squeaking its way around the garden.
Learning to fly and forage for itself Mum does make an appearance now and again to provide a snack but  for most of the day junior blunders around in the undergrowth, flapping and practicing the flying business.

They have chosen a chair on the decking as a launching spot..perhaps not the wisest perch as Bill the cat lolls in a chair nearby!
However I must say he has been very gentlemanly so far ...long may it last and junior gets safely airborne.
