Grandma Heseltine.
Today's been a sad occasion - saying farewell to a recently departed and greatly missed auntie. As is often the case on such occasions, the family rallies round and makes a sad day a little more bearable.
The reception afterwards was very pleasant, under the circumstances, a chance to catch up with the fam. Notable, (apart from the company) was the most glorious pork pies. I'm told that they were from Lishman's of Ilkley - butchers of great renown. I'm a man of simple tastes, but these were just sensational.
Somebody produced this picture - of our gran - Mabel Heseltine. She must have been about 18 when it was taken. I reckon it's almost exactly 100 years ago. There aren't many pictures of her, which makes this one a precious gem.
