The Bahrain World Trade Centre

Not a huge picture, so maybe better in LARGE.

The towers on the left are the Bahrain World Trade centre. On this visit the building work wasn't finished, as you can see from the crane. The Bahrain Dhow disaster, which was supposed to be a celebration of the building work in 2006, resulted in a significant loss of life, as a boat that was basically unseaworthy was hastily converted into a floating restaurant and sent into the harbour packed with people out on a corporate jolly.

However, I don't mean to be sad! This blue sky is what appealed to me, and the leading lines. The World Trade Centre is now finished and is a remarkable structure, with a windmill on its roof.

This is a very old holiday blip from my Bahrain Feb 2007 series. I do blip every day now (it's now Nov 2012). Thank you for looking.
