Another Reading Blip

Another quick blip too, lots to do tonight. A very successful day at the library yesterday, they looked so cute this morning even if they were hard to get moving to school.

Joy of joys, L is even letting me read to him at night and is braving Lemony Snickett. Im was too superior to join in, wallowing in a Danny Katz-athon. (Pene - some suggestions for Yr 1 readers who hate readers ( probably everyone) - Sally Rippin's Billie B Brown and Hey Jack series; Danny Katz's Big Stories from Little Lunch; and Andy Griffith's The Big Fat Cow Goes Kapow and The Cat on the Mat is Flat. All use humour and familiar Aussie school ground scenarios, a world away from dull readers, especially if you just let them enjoy the story without asking all those tedious questions you're meant to!
