Aaaah, the penny drops

The woods where Logan & I regularly walk are full of trees (obviously, it's why they're called "woods") lots of trees = lots of leaves on the ground come autumn, very pretty and crunchy when dry, but when wet can be treacherous underfoot.
The paths through the woods are German paths, not little dirt and mud tracks, oh no, these are serious, proper paths, goodness knows how many layers of compacted gravel are underfoot, you only need wellies if you're planning to go off on the side paths (where the serious walkers (i.e. the crazy nordic pole wielding ones) don't go, but the meandering dog walkers do).
Over the last few weeks, as autumn has taken hold, the carpeting of leaves has increased daily, but I know this doesn't last, as the leaves seem to disappear as if by magic as the last leaves drop (I've been here five years, I notice these things, eventually)
Today I finally saw how the leaves are made to behave and the paths returned to their pristine, Germanic order.
A tractor with a great big leaf blowing attachment, Logan wasn't impressed.
