Giving Thanks... the English Way.
Today I woke up late and had a lovely morning Skype with Alex. Very much a Sunday morning feeling, coffee and crosswords. Afterwards, I baked an apple crumble for Thanksgiving and cleaned the flat. Felt so domesticated!
At 2, I headed off to Hati and Dom's for the main event. After a little bit of confusion over who was and wasn't invited (oh, the intercultural awkwardness!) Shadi and Rebekah came along bringing plenty of treats. We ate roast chicken and roast potatoes and the food was plentiful and really good! Rebekah wasn't feeling well and so left early and Shadi had lessons to plan so headed off pretty early but Dom, Hati and I spent the afternoon making decorations for our slightly bare flats and listening to a range of music. It's strange how close I feel to them both having only met them maybe 4 or 5 times. Being in a different country really does throw people together. Had such a great day though and the best thing about drinking in the day, no hangover! (Tried Hippocras, a spiced wine, amazing!)
