But, then again . . . . .

Chapel Lawns.

A short while ago, this was a green field, though with the first houses already occupied, half of the rest are not completed, some barely started. When they have finished here, there are three more fields to build on before they cross the main road and start on the enormous site that used to be the Poultry Research Centre - part of the Roslin Institute which was the birth place of Dolly the Sheep. I forget just how many new houses are in the pipeline here, but it is a significant proportion of the existing properties and is following a trend that appears to have been set throughout Britain. These are 3, 4 and 5 bedroom houses, I wonder which ones are classified as “affordable”?

Five years ago, towards the end of my first year on Blipfoto, I posted a panorama of those first four fields, “One Day, My Son .........all this will be a housing estate. Reality is kicking in – with a vengeance. The occupants of these houses have been abusing residents of the old village for walking down this road. Perhaps we should ban them from using the Main Street, and the few shops along it, at least until they learn some manners.
