Poetry...for Mrs Withers
Poetry isn't a profession, it's a way of life. It's an empty basket; you put your life into it and make something out of it. Mary Oliver
I was in Cheltenham this morning and the Christmas markets have opened. One stall was selling all sorts of lovely things from Africa including these beautiful colourful baskets. I bought one last year, and it featured a few blips back when we were out picking Raspberries. I love it. It is really intricately woven and has the most gorgeous colours and a leather handle. They are made from Elephant grass which grows easily in Africa and can also be used as a bio fuel. They remind me of kelim carpets with their beautiful patterns and made to fade colours. I am sure, just like a kelim, they will improve with age too!
