Banded dotterel, with chick

More time on the riverbeds today; lots of it. We drove up to the confluence of the Rangitata and Harper Rivers, and I loved the 4WDing.

Such a thrill finding these banded dotterels, and even more of a thrill managing an image with both mother and chick. What a tiny bundle of fluff on tiny legs.
