déjà vu

I was tidying my desk this afternoon when a dusty DVD surfaced with “Déjà Vu Blues Band, B.M.N.W.Barbi, 1994” written on it.  I recognised it as a digital burn off from one of our VHF tapes of a home video taken twenty four years ago when we lived in Yeovil.  Well that wasted the rest of the afternoon.

The video was shot in 4:3 and played back on our 16:9 telly – I was not really that wide in 1994!  The stripes make me look wider anyway (and if you believe that . . . )

The picture quality is understandably rubbish, but the sound is spot on.

The chap with the red top to his jacket carrying in some of the band’s equipment was our doctor.  The band were a group that got together at university and got back together for the occasional gig.  This was the third time they had played in our cul-de-sac since we had moved in, and the second time for the neighbourhood watch.  Sadly it was their final performance ever as they were all working so far apart by then.  We were honoured.  Quite frankly they were that good they could have gone professional and made a fortune, but I guess they are all high flyers in their chosen profession now.
