Flooded fields...

The river Nene runs through the Northamptonshire village in which I live and our normally tranquil view across the fields to Fotheringhay has turned into a 'sea view'... The river has burst its banks but we are lucky, our village does not flood as the flood plain does its job and takes it all.
But the nearby town of Oundle was cut-off for a time yesterday as the roads all around it were flooded.
It's pouring with rain outside again as I write this and I feel so sorry for all those in various parts of the country whose homes have been wrecked by flood water. At least we are warm and dry in our village, even though the rain is lashing down outside.
