Ben Lomond
Having recently moved up to Scotland, I went and to visit Rhys and catch up. With a fantastic forecast, we decided to head up Ben Lomond. Walking north, the bulk of the mountain sheltered us from the biting northerly wind. We could tell it was cold as there was much ice still covering the footpath, but only became apparent how cold when we crested the ridge and felt the full force of the wind. Swiftly putting on another layer, we walked swiftly to the summit, took as many photos as we could bear, then retreated down again.
Spectacular visibility in all directions, snowcapped Mamores to the north, Paps of Jura to the west, and Lomonds of Fife to the east.
