October Ovipositing

Ollie dog and I had a lovely walk in the sunshine at Panshanger Park. I was excited to spot a water vole as we entered the Dragonfly Trail but I wasn't quick enough to capture it. I was hoping for dragons and wasn't disappointed. This pair of common darters had mated and stayed conjoined while she repeatedly dipped her abdomen into the water laying eggs.

We had the Dog Dip to ourselves and were fortunate enough to be joined by the kingfisher while we were paddling like last time. I got an image but the light under the trees wasn't that good.
