The River House

It was a beautiful day in these parts, very chilly but bright and dry.

I met my cousin Alison for her birthday lunch at The River House in Stirling, which, as always, was very good, as the busyness of the place testifies.

There was plenty to choose from on the 2-course lunch menu. Alison went down the cosmopolitan route with bruschetta and enchilada, while I was distinctly 'fishy' with cullen skink and sea bream. Since it was a special occasion we indulged in a wee glass of sauvignon blanc too.

My blip shows the pond at The River House in its setting on the outskirts of Stirling. If you go large you might be able to see a few birds on the water, and in the distance the Braes of Doune wind farm.
