Needless fears

Bill hurried to reach the top of the hill. He always felt unpleasant near this gorge. It seems that something was hidden in the dark, something huge, something dangerous, something monstrous. He had the narrations of his grandpa in his mind about climbers, who disappeared and were never found back. He saw the wafts of fog comming nearer and nearer...
He heard a strange sound and trembled in his bones. Than he noticed a movement in the fog...
The end, the lovely version : ... a group of ibexes crossed his path, leaving him behind with goose bumps.
The end, the scary version : ....he panicked and started to rush. A cold hand seemed to touch him. He screamd. Than he lost his grip and the last thing he heard, when he was falling out of the wall, was this abominable laughter.....
