Waiting

Andy went into hospital for day surgery this morning. I dropped him in the morning sunshine and he wandered off full of smiles. At 13:45 the hospital called to say his procedure had been completed and he was in the recovery area. After what seemed an age, at 17:00 they called again to say he was ready to come home. I was so pleased. I hadn’t realised how stressful I was going to find the waiting. He looked a bit pale and sore when I collected him but hopefully he will get brighter each day. The house feels like a home again now he has returned.
