St Mary the Virgin .....
..... Oxted
I've been quite busy this morning with household chores , at about 11.00am I took a ride to Oxted and as I went a different way I pasted this church ( blipped ) it is really worth investigating as I read the following on goggle ----
# Dates back to C12
# Tower built of Bargate stone ( 12th century
# Chancel dates to 14th century
# Porch " " 15th century
I'm hoping when I go that way again I will be able to make a tour of the church. I liked the memorial to the men of the 14/18 1st W. W. These seem to be a feature around Oxted.
Then I enjoyed a walk around Masons Park , not far for many but was all I could do. Next stop was Sainsbury's in Wallingham for a food shop .
Grateful ..... that I was able to have a short walk in the dry.
