Finally made it ...

Had a great lunch today with friends. It was challenging to arrange with family commitments and medical science making understandable demands on time. But today was the day Elda, Steve, Jennie and Neil came for lunch. Elda, Jennie and I used to work together.

The day was particularly special because Elda got the news last week that the chemo had done its job and she got the all clear. I can only have an inkling of what it might feel like to deal with that diagnosis and to live through that treatment. I felt privileged to share the joy. Elda, Neil & Michael will have the best Xmas ever.

Jennie has made sure she doesn't suffer from Alzeimers by scoring an all time high in some research exercise. And she still has the drive, energy and vision to make a contribution to learning. It was good to hear her talk of possibilities.

Baked cod and a really good chat for lunch.
