Closure of an institution
Gaby's Deli opened in 1965, serving felafel to hungry theatre goers on Charing Cross Road through threat of closure and campaigns by Jeremy Corbin and Boris Johnson to keep it open.
Today it closes. In the end Gaby is retiring and there is no one to take over the business.
This lunchtime we queued round the corner for the last salt been sandwich.
A sad day.
