On trend

This dramatic mural helps create a whole new shopping experience in Bridge of Allan.
 
Dutch owner Eric Ruhll and his partner Rhona wanted something that was theatrical and different. And their shop, Nutshell in the main street, selling “on trend” Nordic furniture and household goods certainly does that.
 
I called in this afternoon to see it with a friend after another friend had told me about it
 (Word travels fast in Bridge of Allan).
 
While every day brings more bad news in the media regarding the closure of shops, it is very good to see a shop bucking that trend by going for a different approach using natural, ethically sourced materials and abandoning the cheap and cheerful imports from China.
 
 Perhaps we should not be surprised. After all Eric Ruhl is a well kent face in the town with his well established upholstery business and a reputation for quirky design and knowing what customers wants.
