DIVERSION

I have one of those jobs where there is a set amount to get through each day. If someone calls me into a meeting, rings me on the dog, or just puts up a big metaphorical DIVERSION sign, I have to stay linger later to get everything done. Nowadays I can rarely leave the office before 6.30pm and later than that is not uncommon. Which is fine - it's my job and I don't have much of a commute. But nine-tenths of the office is gone by 5.30 and so I am the last one out almost every night now. I'm getting pretty practiced at swiping on that alarm and leaping for the door!
