The first squirrel

Today we spotted our local red squirrel on the feeder for the first time. It's only been up for a few days but we thought we'd give it a try after seeing him, or her, run along the bank to bury acorns on a couple of occasions. THis picture was taken through the window so it's not as sharp as I would have liked.

When we were thinking of buying this house we noticed that among the pictures on the website was one of a red squirrel on the rail of the deck. We've spotted him since on the rail a couple of times and saw him over the road in the trees too, but this is the first time we've seen him lift the lid and sample the peanuts! Let's hope that more of his pals will be attracted to the feast!
