A piece of history removed forever.

Many of the old photographs in existence of Tilehurst show the Methodist church and outside it a beautiful tree - a Giant Sequoia. This majestic tree has stood there for many hundreds of years. As it has been declared no longer safe, they started to take it down yesterday. By this morning this is what was left.
