The Cirque de Garvarnie

This is taken from near the car park. A changeable morning weather wise which fortunately settled into a sunny warm day as we walked towards the base of the cirque. It’s about an hours climb up to the hotel situated at the end of the main pathway, it was closed, We carried on for another 15 minutes through the snow, a stunning walk but slippery. We did hope to see more of the waterfall but not a lot to see today, although a few loud retorts made us look up for the avalanche some distance away. Today is a public holiday in France and the pathway was quite busy as we walked back down. A great few hours out and only an hours drive from here.
