Diary of an Edinburgher

Archie enjoys nature

What a lovely day! Thoughts of popping to the beach (and the caravan for a bacon bap and a flat white) were abandoned, though, in favour of gym visits. Such dedication!

I was then persuaded to go with Archie and JR on a walk through the Hermitage, though we drove down to the duck pond and parked the car. I got the bus home, while the others walked back to the car.

While we walked past the duck pond, there was a cafuffle, and I turned round in time to see a huge swan coming in to make a spectacularlay perfect unsplashy landing. Then another one. Of course, I wasn’t ready with my camera. Archie wanted to see what the fuss was, and so we lifted him up to have a look.

It was a lovely walk through the woods, with loads of dogs to meet and greet.

This evening our bathroom project manager, Lara, came along with her builder, Steve, to inspect the site and give their advice. Steve will quote on doing the kitchen bit, and he's also the bathroom builder. It might be good to have one contractor doing the whole job, but of course, it depends on their quotes... One good thing - they said that they can just move the bath a bit, but leave it there till the last minute. We had thought we'd have no shower and NO bath for the whole job, ie weeks and weeks (and possibly, weeks). So that makes it slightly more bearable...

Archie saw a squirrel! He was quite near it, but just stood watching as it scuttled up the tree trunk. He didn’t bark. Good boy.
