Gorgie Road to The Botanic Gardens ...

We're into November, and for the 2nd Saturday of this month, we're planning another walk within Edinburgh - on Saturday 10th November ...

... it's a fairly central walk - going from Gorgie Road to The Botanic Gardens; and back again - and outline details for the day are as follow:

- meet at the main entrance-area of Tynecastle High School, near the corner of Gorgie Road and McLeod Street (map link here: https://goo.gl/1bgaCK )

- McLeod Street has free on-street parking ... and numerous Lothian Buses go along Gorgie Road (services 1, 2, 3, 25, 27 & 33)

- the walk will start from outside Tynecastle High School
- we'll walk down McLeod Street, and onto Russell Road, before accessing (National Cycle Network) NCN1 via the Russell Road ramp
- then along NCN1 until we are near the Craigleith-junction with North Edinburgh Quiet Route 11 ...
- ... we'll then turn east along Quiet Route 20, entering QR20 at Craigleith Hill Avenue
- we'll follow Quiet Route 20 (on street), past Fettes College, and into Inverleith Park (see: http://www.edinburghguide.com/parks/inverleithpark )
- finally accessing The Botanic Gardens ( https://www.rbge.org.uk/ ) at the Arboretum Avenue, 'west entrance'
- we'll head for the Terrace Cafe ( https://atthebotanics.co.uk/dining-at-the-royal-botanic-garden-edinburgh/the-terrace-cafe-botanics-edinburgh/ ) where refreshments/food can be purchased, as required ...
- ... and there's also an interesting exhibition on, literally next door, at Inverleith House - https://www.rbge.org.uk/whats-on/natural-selection/14187

- in essence, after a break, we'll then return by the same route
- finishing back at McLeod Street, from whence several decent hostelries are walk-able for the thirsty ;-)

- the overall route is some 6-7miles in length, and should take no more than 4-5hours (including stop/s at the Botanics)

- and it really is a very flat route again this month - honest!
