Remembrance

I was in Princes Street today and happened upon the Garden of Remembrance in Princes Street Gardens.
Particularly poignant this year on the 100th anniversary of what they thought at the time was the end of the war to end all wars.
The first image is of the pipe band from I think, George Heriot's school, the second, a corner of the field of individually named and dedicated memorial poppies and the third with its first world war trench helmet and regimental memorials watched over by the solitary former soldier was on the other side of the Scott Monument I found particularly poignant.
