Lest we Forget

I am pleased that the ceramic poppy display at Oakham Castle has a selection of White and Purple poppies as well as the standard Red ones. I do find it sad that the meaning of the white poppy is willfully mis-interpreted by some and simply misunderstood by others. 

The purple poppy for animals killed in war should be understood by anyone who has seen or read 'War Horse'.


The Red poppies are of course used for the main displays, including a version of the famous 2014 display at the Tower of London (see extras).
